Who am I?
Hi, I'm Amanda — guitarist, sound engineer, and lifelong music lover.
My musical journey started in my early teens when I “borrowed” my dad’s guitar and some old lesson books. After teaching myself a few chords, I was instantly hooked. That year, I got my very own electric guitar (Fender Squire Stratocaster) for my birthday — and I never looked back.
In my teens and early twenties, I played in a variety of bands spanning pop, rock, and folk. Those years shaped my sound and deepened my love for live performance and musical collaboration.
Professionally, I’ve worn many hats across the music and audio industries. I worked as a sound engineer at a West London music studio, setting up live sound for artist showcases including Conor Maynard, One Direction, Rita Ora, and other Roc Nation artists. I also had a stint on the set of The X Factor, assisting with artist scouting and behind-the-scenes production.
With a strong passion for theatre (and a guilty pleasure for musical theatre), I’ve also spent time working as a lighting and sound engineer in theatre, where I helped bring productions to life and gained valuable insight into the world of stagecraft and technical design. It was an inspiring experience that deepened my appreciation for the work being the scenes that goes into every show.
I have also assisted in a secondary school setting, mentoring GCSE music students and guiding them through their final performance exams. Supporting young musicians during such a formative time was incredibly rewarding, and it reinforced my dedication to music education and mentorship.
Later, I moved into Audio-Visual installations — but no matter the setting, music has always been at the core of everything I do. Now, I’m following my passion once again and focusing fully on what I love most: creativity, connection, and helping others grow through music and working on soon to be performing again.
I started this female-focused guitar tuition and community because I believe strongly in closing the gender gap in music spaces. I want women and girls to feel empowered, supported, and excited to pick up the guitar and help you discover your unique musical voice and enjoy the journey along the way.
